fear about how you might weather the flu everyone is talking
about this year. Not
everyone will get the flu, even without a shot. It generally
depends on how healthy our immune systems are.

Chinese herbs include a number very strong anti-viral herbs.

Here
are some self help things you can do if you get a cold or the
flu this season.

Keep
your immune system in good shape.
There are a number of excellent formulas available for
this. There are
also formulas available if you have a tendency to “catch”
a cold frequently. Some
are available at Midnight Sun.

Take
antioxidants such as Juice Plus, available from Midnight Sun,
it will boost your immune system and also help with
many other aspects of your health.

Please
get enough rest and sleep, as well as time out from a stressed
and hectic schedule. This
is actually more important than you can imagine.
Better do this up front, than loose precious time if
you go down.

Eat as
healthily as you possibly can and drink enough fluids to keep
the system flushed.

If you
get a cold, it is important to do something about it right
away. This
actually will make a difference.

First
avoid sugar in any
way it comes. Sugar
will lower the immune system considerably and suppress it for
up to several hours.

Eat
lightly, avoid heavy to digest foods,
plenty of soups chicken soup is good
and other light, but
nourishing meals.

Have
on hand; Echinacea
tincture (available also from Midnight Sun),
C
vitamin 500 mg strength and also fresh
garlic.

As
soon as you can take a whole dropper full of Echinacea and a
500 mg
C vitamin tablet and continue this every 2 hours until
symptoms abate.
Be
aware that a very
few number of people can be allergic to Echinacea,
if they
are allergic to flowers in the asters family.

If the cold nevertheless gets worse over the next 12-24
hours or you can see
a yellow (ish) coating on your tongue,
you can eat a clove of garlic raw,
perhaps up to 3 times a
day, do not do this if
you are on blood thinner medication.
One way of having garlic on hand in to crush a number
of cloves
and steep them in olive oil, you can spread a little
on a piece of bread, yummy.
Golden seal can also be used then.
Drink plenty of fluids and get rest.

you notice that you have a sore throat, swollen glands, fever
and/or chills, headaches, earaches, etc.
